Check out this amazing Skatewave skatepark located in Ireland!
During the past few years, local riders in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland, were skating in public areas, which caused damage and complaints from community members. In order to decrease these issues and meet the needs of the youth, the Ennis Town Council met with Total Play Solutions, the local Skatewave® representative, and chose to incorporate a Skatewave skatepark into their existing mixed sports and amenity park at Lees Road.

“The Council was asked to pursue the project after a grant covering 60 percent of the construction costs became available,” explained a spokesperson of the Ennis Town Council. The Council examined various manufacturers for value, quality, warranties, and then presented the designs to the local riders. The Skatewave design was the clear consensus.

Local riders have been excited about the new skatepark throughout the entire process, and have put it to good use since its opening in June 2007. “The problem of skateboarders skating on the streets and car parks has disappeared since the park was built,” said the spokesperson. “There has not been a single problem; we’ve only received positive reports.” In addition to the local youth, Ennis Skatepark, the first Skatewave park in Ireland, has drawn in riders from outside of Ennis and the wider County Clare area.
